Blends are not uncommon in Australian wine making, with Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz being one of the more popular combinations.

The owners of Plum Market are renovating a former Farmer Jack store at Maple and Orchard Lake roads in West Bloomfield and will open their third -- and largest -- store there in early 2009, cofounder Matthew Jonna said Wednesday. The new Plum will cost about $7 million and provide more than 175 jobs, he said.
